Founded in 2001, Henson Electric Inc (HEI) is owned and operated by Robert and Diana Henson. We are located in Carroll County (Illinois) 15 miles south of Freeport.  HEI is licensed to do electrical work in the Cities of Freeport and Rockford, as well as most of the smaller communities in northern Illinois. We employ 3 full time and 2 part time electricians.
 

About Diana...
A native of the Rock River Valley. Diana graduated from Rock Falls High School and attended Sauk Valley College before transferring to graduate school. In 1988 she received her doctorate degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.

Diana owned and operated Mt Morris Chiropractic for 15 years. In 2004 she sold the practice and joined her husband in the contracting business. Diana has found Henson Electric to be fun and challenging. She particularly enjoys alternative energy and the potential it holds to conserve our natural resources.

Diana continues to have a strong interest in the health care field and maintains her license as a chiropractic physician. She routinely provides consulting services for patients.
 

About Bob...

The eldest of four, Bob was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He lived in Missouri, Kansas, Texas and Kentucky where he graduated from

Owensboro High School. After graduation Bob went to work in the engineering department of the Colonial Baking Company in Cedar Rapids Iowa where his father was the plant president. By the age of 21 Bob had earned the title plant engineer. Through the years he held various  engineering positions for prominent companies such as Anheuser Busch, Colonial Baking Company, Sara Lee, Stewart Systems and Terra Harvest. For five years Bob traveled the world supervising the construction of manufacturing plants for the food industry. This included multimillion dollar projects in the United States, France, Mexico, Canada, Finland, Switzerland and Italy. Through these travels Bob became familiar with the large diversity of electrical systems used throughout the world.

Between travels, for the last 20 years Bob has made his home in rural Ogle county. In 2001, at urging of many friends and relatives, Bob decided to apply his knowledge close to home. Thus, Henson Electric Inc was born. Our customers are the beneficiary of Bob’s vast knowledge and 30 years experience.
 

The couple has 3 grown children from Bob's first marriage and they are in the process of adopting a 2 year old boy from Kazakhstan.  The oldest daughter Heidi and her husband Brian are missionaries in Italy.  Heidi and Brian have three children (Lance, Chloe and Trey) with a baby girl on the way.  Brandy is in management with Van Diest Supply Company and lives locally.  Son Robert III (Bobby) is married to Natasha and they have one daughter, Venezia.  Bobby is proudly serving our country in the United States Air Force.

Diana and Bob met through their mutual interest in flying. They both maintain a private pilot’s license and were married in the families vintage Cessna 170 in 2000. Today they live in “the country” in rural Carroll County along with their Boxers Baxter and Riley.  They are planning to travel to the country of Kazakhstan in the spring 2009 to bring home their adopted son Alex.
